Country Kitchen Centerpiece Ideas

If your kitchen has a rustic, country theme, table centerpieces can complete the look of the room. Look for earthy elements and warm country colors, and pull natural items in to bring a sense of the great outdoors into your kitchen. Mason Jars and Candles

For a simple, inexpensive and elegant country centerpiece, combine candles and Mason jars. Look for the clear glass jars, which are often used in canning, and scrape off any labels so the surface is clear. Choose candles that coordinate with the decoration of your kitchen; for a warm, homey feeling, look for soft cream, yellow, neutral or rose-colored candles. For an eclectic, shabby chic look, find candles and jars in varying sizes and heights. Add finishing touches by tying ribbon or twine bows around the rims of a couple of the jars.

Herb Pots

If you like to use fresh herbs in your cooking, use herb pot centerpieces for your kitchen. Choose small flower pots or decorative jars, and plant the herbs you use most often. Allow the plants to sprout before turning them into centerpieces for the greatest visual effect, and choose a selection of pots and herbs grouped together. For a centerpiece that gives a sense of the country in the fall, choose a fruit or vegetable basket. Come autumn, look for fruits and vegetables in the deep, rich colors of fall leaves. You might find small squash, pumpkins, apples, oranges, pomegranates or pears, which, when combined, make a colorful palette. Line the bottom of a decorative basket with hay or fall leaves, and arrange the fruit on top; finish the basket by tying a simple bow out of rough twine on the handle or over the top of the fruit.

Antique Tins and WIldflowers

Make the most of seasonal country wildflowers by using them in centerpieces for your kitchen. Start by finding antique tins to use as vases, or purchase new options in a vintage print. Gather thick bunches of wildflowers, and place them in three tins, which you can group together on the center of a round table for a colorful centerpiece. For a longer rectangular table, you can create a line of flower-filled tins down the center; alternate heights and sizes for an eclectic look.
