How to Play Striker in Foosball

Foosball is a great game for get-togethers and parties. It can be played by beginners as well as seasoned veterans. One of the most exciting positions to play in foosball is striker (or offensive player).

Instructions

    1

Get a feel for the foosball table. This especially includes the striker stick, the striker players locations on the stick and their relation to the rest of the table. Move the stick back and forth. Notice how easy or hard it moves back and forth. Also, get comfortable playing the strikers. Adjust your body where it works best for you to move the strikers around easily and avoid bumping into the player next to you.

    2

Take a few practice shots. This will help prepare your reflexes and offensive moves in the game. Remember which moves worked the best while kicking shots and use them during the game. Work on improving your hand-eye coordination during the practice.

    3

Start playing hard the moment the ball is dropped into play. Be alert and ready as soon as the game begins, because the ball may just end up at your feet, literally. Be ready for quick passes from your goalie or midfielders. Keep your eye on the ball at all times, and play it as soon as it gets to you. Then you have a great opportunity to catch the goalie off-guard and score.

    4

If the goalie has the ball, keep your strikers in line with the ball. If the goalie takes a quick pass or shot, you may have a chance to dish it straight back into the goal. You will also be playing defense, keeping a fast shot from heading toward your goal. Stay in front of the ball.

    5

When the ball gets into your possession, shoot it with strategy, skill and finesse. Try angled shots or pass from side to side before shooting to throw off the goalie and make a score. Don't be afraid to take some time with the ball to lull the goalie or force him into making a mistake. When you have the ball, you're in control. Take the initiative and score. Don't be timid--just shoot it.

    6

No matter how far ahead you may be, never stop playing offense with fervor. In Foosball, it is very easy for a team to come from behind and pull out a win.
