Finished Basement Ideas for a Game Room

Finished Basement Ideas for a Game Room

A finished basement is the perfect location for a game room. Most basements are large open spaces that can fit big items there may not be space for in the rest of the house. Basements also tend to be at least partly underground, making them great noise-muffling locations for parties. If you have teenage children, basements provide a safe refuge for them to bring their friends where they can have fun and privacy and still be under your roof. Does this Spark an idea?

Foosball

Foosball tables are classic game-room accessories that anyone can play but only the experienced can master. They also lend a retro feel to your game room and provide endless fun for guests.

Stereo System

Every game room should have a solid stereo system. You can purchase several inexpensive speakers and mount them around the room for surround sound. You can use the system for playing music at parties, and hook it up to your television for theater-style movie watching.

Ping-Pong

A Ping-Pong table is a great and versatile addition to any game room. Ping-Pong tables can be used for one-on-one games, team matches and, for dedicated partyers, beer pong. The tables also fold up for easy storage, or if you need to use the floor for dancing.

Refrigerator

A refrigerator in your game room will keep guests from having to troupe upstairs every time they want a drink. It's also a great place to store extra frozen food and to keep quick snacks. If you're planning on entertaining during the holidays, an extra refrigerator will come in handy for storing premade dishes and large items, like turkeys, that may not fit in your kitchen fridge.
