Centerpiece Ideas for Low Tables

Centerpiece Ideas for Low Tables

It can often be difficult to think of centerpieces to decorate the low tables in your home, such as coffee table or side table. These tables are functional, as they hold lamps and books, or they are a place to set drinks when watching TV or entertaining. You want them to keep their purposeful use while bringing style into your living area. There are a number of centerpiece ideas that you can use on low tables to dress up your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Baskets

Baskets are an option to consider for a low-lying table centerpiece. Select baskets that are made of interesting materials or colors and have different shapes. If your table is small, consider using just one basket; if it is larger, you can make an arrangement of different baskets to add depth to the centerpiece. This centerpiece can be functional as well as stylish, as you can fill the baskets with candy or magazines, or they can hold your remotes, car keys or mail.

Candles

Candles add elegance and romance to any room. For a centerpiece for your low-lying table, consider using candles to add to the style of your room. Jar candles, tea lights, hurricane lamps with pillar candles inside or taper candles can all be used for a centerpiece. If you are seeking a more uniform look, select the same style and color candle and group together. For more interest, select a variety of different candles, such as a hurricane lamp surrounded by tea lights, and place them on a mirror in the center of your table. You can also surround the candles with other elements, such as river rocks and flower petals. Scented candles will not only provide you with a fashionable centerpiece, but they will also add fragrance to your home.

Wreaths

Wreaths are an interesting idea for a centerpiece. Wreaths come in different shapes and sizes, so you are bound to find one that fits your needs. Wreaths can be changed to coordinate with the season. For example, in the spring you may feature an ivy wreath as a centerpiece for your coffee table, a summer wreath may be made up of roses, colored leaves can be used in an autumn wreath and pine and berries for a winter wreath.

Vases

Not only do vases hold flowers, but they also make a statement on their own. They can be made from a variety of materials, including wood, glass and sterling silver, and come in an assortment of colors, heights and shapes. Again, depending on the area of your table and the style you are trying to achieve, you may opt to use one vase, or you may want to use an array of different vases. You can display a lavish bouquet, a few fresh clipped bloom, a single bud or leave the vases empty. Which ever you choose, you will have a tasteful centerpiece.
