Fun Games for Bars

Fun Games for Bars

Bars are so much more than just a place to get a beer or a shot of whiskey. Patrons gather at bars for a variety of reasons such as socialization, celebrations and even business meetings. These establishments usually offer entertainment in the form of games such as pool, darts and tabletop games, and there are also a variety of other game options that can be fun to try.

Pool

Most bars will have at least one pool table, most of which are coin-operated and charge anywhere from 50 cents to $1 per game. Some establishments will also let you rent the tables for certain time periods. Pool sticks are usually provided, although you can also bring your own. Some bars will also hold pool tournaments with cash prizes for the winners.

Tabletop Games

Tabletop bar games include tabletop shuffleboard, Foosball and table tennis. These games are also usually coin-operated. In tabletop shuffleboard, the objective is to slide all your weights across the table against those of your opponent, so they reach the highest-scoring area without falling off the table. Foosball's objective is to score the ball in the opponent's goal, using a variety of handles and paddles to move the ball across the table. Table tennis is similar to regular tennis with the objective of the game being to accumulate the most points while not missing the ball. Players use paddles to bounce the ball back and forth across a small net in the middle of the table.

Drinking Games

Quarters is a fun drinking game to play at bars. All you need is some alcohol, a few quarters and a shot glass. To play, set the shot glass in the center of a table. Hold a quarter between your index finger and thumb at about a 45 degree angle, holding your hand about 12 inches above the table. Bring you hand down, bouncing the coin off the table, trying to bounce it into the glass in one try. If you make it, you can make anyone else at the table take a shot of alcohol. If you miss it, you're the one who has to take a drink.

Truth or Drink

This is a new take on the popular "Truth or Dare" game, but instead of taking a dare, the player can choose to take a drink instead. Each player must choose between answering a question truthfully or taking a drink. The game can be played in a variety of ways to determine the winner, which can include whoever takes the fewest number of drinks to whoever answers the most questions.
